The Impact Crater in South Africa; Tswaing Crater
One of the most spectacular impact craters on the planet is located north of Pretoria within South Africa. The impact crater in question measures more than 1130 meters or 3707 feet wide and occurs within a section of Savannah. This crater is known as Tswaing Crater, which formed from a massive asteroid slammed into the planet 220,000 years ago. This video will discuss how this ancient impact crater formed, and how frequently similar impacts occur on the planet. This video was made by a geologist who is based in Arizona.
