The Impact Crater in Canada; Haughton Crater
One of the most spectacular and remote impact craters on the planet is located in northern Nunavut within Canada. The impact crater in question measures more than 23 kilometers or 14 miles wide and occurs within a remote section of tundra. The impact crater in question is called Haughton Crater, which formed from a massive asteroid slammed into the planet more than 20 million years ago. This video will discuss how this ancient impact crater formed, and how frequently similar impacts occur on the planet.
