One of the most spectacular impact craters on the planet is located in the Great Sandy Desert of Australia. The impact crater in question measures more than 870 meters or 2850 feet wide and occurs within a remote section of Western Australia. The impact crater in question is called Wolfe Creek Crater, which formed from a massive asteroid slammed into the planet 120,000 years ago. This video will discuss how this ancient impact crater formed, and how frequently similar impacts occur on the planet. This video was made by a geologist who is based in Arizona.
