Why And How To Build An Easy RF Choke.

An RF choke can save the day for field radio operations where you do not necessarily control all aspects of your antenna system and common-mode currents can wreck havoc on electronics, and even your fingers! Use an FT-114-31 with six turns of RG-174 or RG-316. You can also use eight turns with an FT-140-43. For more power handling you can use an FT-240-31 or FT-240-43 but I do not know the number of turns (RG-402).
