We're in an Abusive Relationship with our Government and the Big Corporations. It's ok Not to Trust

Let´s talk about why people don´t trust their governments. I am United States citizen, but we see the same thing all around the world. Governments, MSM, and other once-cherished institutions have worn out their welcome with their citizenry.
We´ll use the analogy of a healthy relationship vs. an unhealthy relationship, and what we will conclude is the skepticism, paranoia, and ¨conspiracy theories¨ are perfectly natural, healthy, reasonable survival mechanisms. When an indvidual is repeatedly abused, used, lied to, manipulated, etc., what do you think will happen to that person? Will they believe and trust their abuser anymore?
