*** Diane’s response in a discussion about Israel - Suffice it to say, and I know you know these things. When Jesus was here, he made it clear, it WAS NOT ABOUT ISRAEL. It started with them and they failed, the only way to be restored/redeemed to the Lord is THROUGH HIM. Many Christians misunderstand Genesis 12:1-3: Now the Lord had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father's house, unto a land that I will shew thee: 2 And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing: 3 And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed. Obviously, this was ONLY possible, not by the nation of Israel/Judah but through Jesus Christ - Galatians 3:16,19,29 - 16 - Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ. 19 - Wherefore then serveth the law? It was added because of transgressions, till the seed should come to whom the promise was made; and it was ordained by angels in the hand of a mediator. 29 - And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise. *** I trust you realize this. NO NATION is to be honored, catered to, indulged as the Israel of today is, allowing them to steal, kill and destroy, dominate our gov't, requiring oaths to Israel before being able to take office (ask GA-D 3x Rep Cynthia McKinney who refused and was cashiered out). Israel is NOT our friend. Truly, they need to get saved but not indulged or even tolerated. Jesus had MOST to contend with concerning the jewish leadership of his day, as you know. In fact, it was said to the jews, quoted from the OT - Rom 2:24 For the name of God is blasphemed among the Gentiles through you, as it is written (Ezek 36:23 - And I will vindicate the holiness of my great name, which has been profaned among the nations, and which you have profaned among them. And the nations will know that I am the Lord, declares the Lord God, when through you I vindicate my holiness before their eyes.) [Obviously their purpose] I've enjoyed your dissertation, if you will concerning church and government. Must be clear about Israel, though.
