It's been cold in Texas before. In my lifetime, the worst cold snaps have been '83, '89, '96, '00, '13. Dec '83 is likely the cold spell of record. I suspect the problems with the gas fired power plants goes back to the drawing board. How can one reasonably design a power plant without considering excessive demand, extreme heat and extreme cold. I work in drainage design and work with 100-Year flooding in particular. Shouldn't the design of a power plant and power grid take in to account 100-Year cold snaps and 100-Year heat waves?? Well duh..

This is not funny at all. I would suspect some hateful Liberals are at the bottom of this "trouble". They need to get some help in there!!!! The Texans need to refuse to pay their bills for about three months and demand some justice for this! They need to fix this and no accountability does not cut it!!! They are responsible for deaths at the end of the day....and no accountability?????? That is not right at all.
