One of Canada's contribution to aviation after the World War Two efforts, was to development of a most efficient forest fire fighting machine to quickly cover the vast surface of the country. Canadair's origins started in Montréal, Canada. The older CL-215 Canadair water bomber holds a maximum water capacity of 1,300 US gallons (4,900 liters), while the newer and bigger CL-415 holds a maximum water capacity of 1,620 US gallons (6,132 liters); and both can scoop their water in flight over lakes or even the ocean if necessary, withing just a few seconds; and unlike helicopters that fan the flames even bigger, Canadair water bombers push the air behind them during their flight, before unloading massive amounts of water over raging infernos. Inside which plane is a well trained team, working with other planes of the Canadair fleet, in a well coordinated plan with firefighter on the ground, by surrounding to fires with a quick succession of attacks, preventing them from spreading farther, before delivering the final knockout blow; So politicians, like old broken records, trying to score cheap political points with good neighbors and friends like Canada, only look at best out of touch with reality and totally senile.
