Uttarakhand Forest Fire | Extent of Damage & Why It is a Cause of Serious Concern | The Quint

The #UttarakhandForestFire rages on. At least 40 incidents of fire reported in 11 districts. Nainital, Almora, Tehri Garhwal, Chamoli, Rudraprayag, Tehri, Uttarkashi, Dehradun, Haridwar, Baheshwar, and Pauri Garhwal are the worst-affected by the fires.
At least 700 species of birds and animals are at a high risk. Flora and fauna severely impacted, several people rendered homeless, and losses worth lakhs reported. Rescue operations are underway. NDRF and helicopters have been deployed.
