Within a chain of islands north of mainland New Zealand is a large volcano which has produced several catastrophically large eruptions in the past 4,000 years. The Volcano I am referring to is called Raoul, which last erupted in 2006. This volcano encompasses the entirety of Raoul Island, and is the reason for its unusual shape. Due to the frequent eruptions from this volcano, it is only a matter of time before it erupts again. This video covers the recent eruptions from this volcano, and states the general hazard which it poses in the future.
This video was made by a geologist who is based in Arizona.
