Arizona faces prospect of vote recount amid extremely tight races

It appears that some Arizona races in this year's election are headed towards a recount.

This year, a record 2.5 million Arizonans, voted in the midterm elections, and two statewide races - Superintendent of Public Instruction and Attorney General - seem ripe for recounts. This year's election took place after a new state law was passed that expands the threshold for recounts to a level five times greater than before.

Nine-Hour Hearing Held in Delaware County After Officials Took a Detour from Counting Center into a Closed Building for 6 Hours on Election Day

Arizona Attorney General Wants Report on Voting Machine Problems

Arizona Republican Attorney General Mark Brnovich's office has demanded that Maricopa County officials provide a report on the voting machine problems that caused some delays in the battleground state during this month's midterm elections.

A letter dated Saturday by Assistant Attorney General Jennifer Wright calls for county officials to report by Nov. 28 on the specific problems related to the printers at each location as well on how poll workers were trained.

Federal Payroll Expected to Exceed $55 Billion in 2022: Parliamentary Budget Office

Payroll for federal employees is expected to surpass $55 billion this year, according to a report by the Parliamentary Budget Office (PBO).

Published on Nov. 18, the report, titled “Supplementary Estimates (B),” says hiring of public servants has been on the rise in the past seven years.

“Government spending on public servant salaries and benefits is forecast to climb to almost $55 billion this year—or about $130,000 per full-time employee,” the budget office wrote, as first reported by Blacklock’s Reporter.

“The cost drivers of personnel spending are the number of personnel (represented by full-time equivalents, or FTEs), and their level of compensation.”
