Spc. Andrew Brown and Sgt. Rocky the Military Working Dog (or MWD) were deployed together to Afghanistan on October 26th, 2015. Their job was to locate and identify IED as well as other tasks. On December 3rd, 2015 while searching a structure in Afghanistan as part of the 89th Military Police Brigade, Spc. Brown and Sgt. Rocky as well as SFC. Caleb Brewer were all seriously injured when what is believed to be a secondary IED went off not 20 feet from them.

SFC. Brewer lost part of his right and left legs to the blast, and Rocky and Brown were down also. While being treated for his injuries SFC. Brewer directed medics to focus on Rocky and Brown.
All of the injured were stabilized on scene and then airlifted to Kandahar, Afghanistan where they were stabilized further and treated so they could be medevacked to Ramstein Air Base in Germany where they underwent surgeries for their injuries.

Rocky had extensive injuries to his left rear and a broken left rear leg. But he received care and treatment from the great vets in theater and in the states. And a few month later after healing up some, Rocky and Brown were reunited in the US. The video of their meeting after being apart for a few months shows just how much Rocky missed his partner.

A GoFundMe site has been set up for SPC. Browns Family as they have had to move and travel to be with Andrew while he recovers. Here is the link, we ask that you think about maybe helping them out a little. https://www.gofundme.com/qxe4qbh4

Also SFC Brewer continues to heal and learn to deal with his life changing injuries. His family has asked that any donations be made through www.taskforcedagger.org/donate. They are a 501C3 and contributions are tax deductible. Please specify that your donation is for SFC. Brewer.

Please consider sharing this story with others so that they too can see what sacrifices are still being made by our men and women and furry warriors in Afghanistan, even after we have supposedly stopped fighting.
