It wasn't planned that way. But when things happen fast and go wrong, you have to make a decision. Mine was to try to save a Golden Retriever puppy who had plunged into a raging mountain runoff river. She has about a minute to survive. Here my "dogness" Allie the Mountain Dog take you to actual location where it happened, miles up a scenic mountain canyon, climbing 2300 vertical feet to get you there. The year was 2003 and this was another formative life experience for me. We sit down in the remote mountain meadow and tell you the story. Good things resulted from this harrowing experience and one of them is stitting right next to me: Allie, my mountain trained female black lab whom TNPrs have watched for years up here.
