Students protested against fuel price hikes in Nepal as a sign of growing discontent over rising inflation. Around 100 protesters from the All Nepal National Free Student Union (ANNFSU) clashed with cops. Police in Kathmandu fired teargas and charged at protesters with sticks to break up protests. ANNFSU is the student wing of the main opposition Nepal Communist Party (Unified Marxist-Leninist).
