I appreciate your approach and not wanting to be hyperbolic, however, I agree that there is certainly cause for serious concern. As you say, once the genie is out of the box---suspending the constitution---we are unlikely to get it back; martial law is not a good thing.
Also, if government forces go against the people in a significant level, that also will likely result in irrevocable changes and losses. As you say sir, politicians should think deeply about their own oath and how things could go. Sad.
