Lockdowns, state border closures ‘completely pointless’
Sky News host Rowan Dean says all internal lockdowns, internal state border closures, and the forced closures of small businesses have been “completely pointless”.
“There is no evidence from anywhere around the world that lockdowns do work,” Mr Dean said.
It comes as Victoria is expected to snap out of its state-wide five-day lockdown this evening after few cases of COVID-19 were recorded since the start of the re-introduced stage four restrictions.
“There’s no evidence where we can say ‘that group of people who were locked down did better than that group of people that weren’t locked down’,” Mr Dean said.
He said the “greatest thing” which worked for Australia in countering the spread of COVID-19 was the closure of international borders.
