New credit or debit cards have a build in radio frequency chip that allows the purchaser to simply wipe their card over the check out area instead of swiping it through a card readers magnetic strip. When a credit card or debit card has one of these chips inside of them, in a crowed area, if someone has a card reader one can charge your credit card quick and easily as these chipped cards have about a 5 to 6 inch range signal to the machine receiving it. To stay secure, find the area of the card that is indented and simply punch it out as explained in this video. You will remove the chip but the magnetic strip will work fine for traditional swiping the card checkouts.
