Pork Shoulder Shoot! I'm getting better at placing two round per shoulder to maximize on the test media. This is introducing bone into the equation, but I feel that it helps give a more accurate representation of what could happen in real life. I've thought about switching to gel? Thoughts?
Results: The Critical Duty round penetrated 9" of meat, plus almost all the way through 1 water jug. It impacted the bone very early on in it's travel. It smeared a little of the lead, but for the most part the bullet stayed in tact. A few small fragments of lead were recovered close to the exit wound. The flex tip was found at the exit wound as well.
This round doesn't expand as much as the Critical Defense round, and is evident by it's much smaller wound channel. It did however out penetrate the CD round, even after breaking a bone, where as the CD was unable to break the bone it impacted.
Overall, the lack of expansion on these rounds (they seemed designed this way) may help aide in overall penetration, but with proven personal defense rounds that expand and penetrate, I'm on the fence on these.
