Hino da Mocidade Portuguesa - Anthem of the Portuguese Youth [INSTRUMENTAL]

The Mocidade Portuguesa was a youth organization that operated between the years of 1936 and 1974, during the corporatist regime of António de Oliveira Salazar: The New Portuguese State.

Membership was compulsory from 7 to 14 years of age, and voluntary up to 25 years of age. Boys from the colonies as well as girls were also allowed to join the movement, the last ones having their own female branch within the organization.

It had close relations with the Spanish Youth Front, as well as with the Italian Opera Nazionale Balilla and the German Hitlerjugend, and also had many features of fascist symbology, such as the Roman salute or the use of a uniform of a certain color (In this case green).

After Salazar's death in 1971, Mocidade Portuguesa gradually lost importance and, finally, ended up being suppressed in 1974, after the success of the Carnation Revolution.
