Several World War II bombs have been neutralised in the Peloponnese region of Greece by the Greek Navy.

The bombs were retrieved from the bottom of the sea near the port of Monemvasia in Laconia.

Mine neutralisation specialists conducted the operation between October 12 and 23.

The historic wartime bombs were transported to a designated safe area for controlled explosions.

Approximately 800 explosive devices will be recovered during the neutralisation operation.
