The phrase “Fourth of July” was in use by the end of the 18th century

Congress approved a declaration of independence on July 2, 1776

The official Declaration was approved two days later by a committee.

The first printed copies read “In Congress, July 4, 1776."

Congress established the first three (3) federal holidays in 1870: the first day of January, (New Year's day), the fourth day of July, the twenty-fifth day of December

Some Say Fourth of July or some say Independence Day
