The Production of the self-propelled artillery system for the German Army commenced at the Krauss-Maffei Wegmann facility in Kassel in the second half of 1997. Currently, the Panzerhaubitze 2000 howitzer is in service with Croatia, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Lithuania, Netherlands, Qatar, and now Ukraine.
