Jeff explains reloads and what to do if you pull the trigger... and nothing happens. When you use up all the ammunition in your pistol's magazine, the slide will lock open. You'll need to remove the empty magazine, insert a fresh full mag, release the slide (to strip a round out of the magazine and push it into the chamber), and return to your shooting grip. Sometimes in the course of shooting, you squeeze the trigger and hear a "click" instead of a "bang". The trigger released the firing pin but the round did not go off. Perform an Immediate Action Drill: Keep the muzzle pointed downrange. Move your trigger finger to the home position. Smack the bottom of the magazine with your support hand to make sure it is fully seated in the gun. Then rack the slide back to eject the "bad" round and get a fresh, properly functioning (we hope), round in the chamber, and try the shot again.
