Along with humility and charity Fear of the Lord is truly a foundation stone for our spiritual edifice. For those who have this three-fold foundation, scandal does not easily affect them or move them to despair. It seems the whole world is scandalized now… fallen away, unwilling to recognize or adhere to their Lord and King. Charity has grown cold, pride and arrogance reign. Thus, the Church and the world around us are in a state of demise… a sort of despair. We have forgotten God because few truly fear Him as they ought.
