Cell Phone Radiation May Affect Memory

Radiation from your mobile phone may affect your memory, new research suggests. The study found that when teens frequently held their smartphones to their ears, increasing their brain''s exposure to Radio Frequency-Electromagnetic radiation, it had a significantly adverse effect on their visual memory - especially when the cell phone signal was weak. Researchers from the Swiss Tropical and Public Health Institute monitored cell phone usage and the brain health of close to 700 teens for a year. The conclusion was: while frequent smart phone usage had an adverse effect on memory, those teens who tended to use their phones for texting, internet surfing or playing video games were unaffected.
