ATF Regulating AR15 Uppers: Safety Harbor Firearms

Yesterday the ATF created a new rule, stating that SHTF uppers must be serialized. This means you must ship the upper receiver to an FFL, and you must undergo a background check. Previously, the only serialized component on an AR-15 was the lower receiver. The ATF has ruled that the upper receiver itself is now classified as a firearm. This is a very slippery slope, with the possibility of a lot more regulation of our freedoms coming down the pipes.
