Apology for women's lives ruined by unsafe medical treatments - BBC News
The live of many women have been ruined by three separate medical treatments, because officials failed to listen to concerns about their safety and often dismissed the complaints as “women's problems”.
An official inquiry looked at the impact of an epilepsy treatment, pelvic mesh implants and a pregnancy test no longer on the market.
The Health Secretary Matt Hancock has offered a full apology to the women affected and promised that lessons will be learned.

I had a hysterectomy in the 90s and mesh was inserted at that time. In 2015 on Thanksgiving I experienced the worst pain of my life. I called an ambulance and got to the hospital writhing in pain. I was given a CAT scan and was immediately taken to the OR. I had sepsis. The mesh had hardened and cut my bowel and the poison was everywhere in my system. I was in the hospital for 10 days and went home with an ostomy bag. I was told that had I waited another 1/2 hour I would have been dead. I had to have another surgery to reverse the ostomy. Even though I almost died and experienced tremendous pain, I was told due to the statute of limitations, I would have no case.
