English armored vehicles were used by the Rhodesians in their Bush war, as it was the only ones they had. However, they made several clever adaptations, and their special operations had probably the highest kill ratios of any modern military force. For example, they made the first V-hull mine resistant and ambush resistant vehicles, later copied by the MRAPs.

John Edmund was a troopie, and appreciated the cover provided by a fairly old Ferret scout car. He decided to nickname it George, and wrote a song about it.
