1 Don't be inviting

Probably one of the most difficult strategies to stay out of the narcissist trap
is to not allow them into your life in the first place.
This is challenging because you don't know they are narcissists.

2 Look for signs of covert narcissist

Check your gullibility

3 Don't get attached to anyone

Paranoid? Avoidant? Maybe.
Test drive without confirmation bias
Love at first sight?

4 Question their loyalty

5 Don't ignore red flags

6 Don't give them fodder

If you "attack" the narcissist in an argument,
she/he will use that against you.
If you surrender personal information, he will use that against you.
If you talk about others, he will use that against you.
Definition of fodder: Cheap food for livestock.
