He's likely got images on there that will hold up in court, get him locked up for good.
Or like I said, just quietly handle it.
Think about it.
LOTS of ppl get drunk & set their house on fire while cooking. They just pass out.
I literally know of 4 in the past 25 years that have done that.
Could easily happen.
But not now. Now? If he commits suicide, this guy will be looked at.

Unless they're in Texas. Man caught an illegal he'd hired raping his 5 yr old daughter in a shed on the property & beat him to death with his bare hands. The law said it was justified.
