Rep. Devin Nunes, R-Calif., the ranking member of the House Intelligence Committee, criticized Democrats for politicizing the handling of a whistleblower complaint that involved a phone call in which President Donald Trump asked Ukraine’s president to investigate former vice president and 2020 presidential candidate Joe Biden. “Everything they touch gets hopelessly politicized,” Nunes said about the Democrats during a House committee featuring Director of National Intelligence Joseph Maguire. “Today, the whistleblower process is the casualty,” he added. Democrats have questioned Maguire’s handling of the whistleblower complaint, which led to Congress not being able to view it until the day before the hearing.
