This song is about the hippie background of the NY Boys and includes many pictures. The NY Boys, all in their early 20s, attended Jane Roberts’ Seth classes in Elmira, NY, in the 1970s.

I was one of the NY Boys and Seth called me “our poet.”

We grew up in the Clearview-Bayside-Whitestone neighborhoods of northeastern Queens, NY; and in 1966 our “hippie” background began. This song generally covers the late-60s.

I wrote the lyrics and created this video. Matt Comegys wrote the music and performs it.

The video includes pics of ten NY Boys Seth class members scattered thru out.

Six of the most well-known ones are:

Richard Kendall
Rick Stack
Lawrence Davidson
Jeff Marcus
Bobby Axelrod
Barrie Gellis (me)

Then there are four more. I’m only using their first names because they don’t discuss it online but are briefly included in Sue’s class books. These are:

Joyce and Lena attended some classes. Vicky attended one class. A NY Boy, Larry H, is also pictured.

All of us are mentioned in the class transcripts except maybe Vicky,

My hope is that this song will be meaningful, not only to those who grew up in the era and area in Northeastern Queens—but also to those who grew up in similar neighborhoods scattered across America at that time.

I believe and I hope that you all can relate to your OWN teenage experiences growing up in 1960s America--even if technically you don’t know anyone or any specific places mentioned in the song.

Perhaps feelings will create a vehicle for listeners to ride back thru their own memories and bring to mind their old friends and hangouts—and wondering where they are now.

Barrie Gellis, wrote the lyrics; Matt Comegys wrote the music and performs the song.
