We have become a people divided. We are set up to be divided by financial status, gender, race, and political views. In this video I discuss the parallel between blacks and whites being considered traders to their race. Uncle Tom is a Christian figure and hero portrayed in the book "Uncle Tom’s Cabin.” Uncle Tom is ultimately martyred; being beaten to death by a cruel master, simply because Tom has a sacrificial heart for others and refuses to betray the location of two black women who have escaped from slavery. Now, today an "Uncle Tom" is a very derogatory term to describe a black person who "acts white" and "talks white", or who is a sell-out to his own race. On the other side called Negro lovers, many white abolitionists were hated and killed for their views that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. And conviction that slavery and cruelty and immoral actions of the Trans Atlantic slave trade were then what we today refer to as human trafficking. The first whites to stand up against slavery were the Separatist, Quakers, and Puritans. There was the Quaker Protest against Slavery in the New World, Germantown (Pa.) 1688.
In their writings they grappled with golden rule... "We shall do to all men like as we will be done ourselves; making no difference of what generation, descent or color they are." The first anti slavery activists were Gerret Hendericks, Derick up de Graeff, Francis Daniell Pastorius, and Abraham up den Graef wrote a protest and presented their opposition to slavery. Also I will touch on little known facts throughout history of the founding fathers and their relationships with African Americans during the revolutionary and civil wars.
