Columnist writer of Buzz magazine Boyd Kodak; is an award winning musician, songwriter, filmmaker, curator, festival director, writer, event producer, programmer, human rights activist, and Chair of the Toronto Trans Alliance. Has set an Ontario Human Rights Commission precedent, Prior to transitioning(1993, Waterman vs National Life); It’s referred to as the beginning of L&G history in Canada. During his transitioning years in the mid 1990’s he became involved with Trans in the media. Boyd has been involved in producing 9 shorts for the festival circuit, and 45 broadcast segments on LGBTQ+ life . He also coproduced the graphic novel, A Not So Fairy Toxic Tale. In 2016, became the change for Toronto Police Services to revise all polices, procedures and training, regarding Trans people. This became Boyd’s second historical Human Rights victory. The first completed stage of this massive project was shared in a town hall presented by the Chief of Police on January 19 and March 23, 2022. Boyd will be one of the inductees into the “LGBTQ+Walk of Heroes Monument” currently being built in Toronto.
