There is not even enough gravity on Mars (38% gravity of Earth, Moon 16.6%), to terraform it, as it wouldn't hold enough of a breathable oxygen atmosphere, or the proper air pressure for humans and animals outside. Life on Mars could only be indoor, or in a pressure suit, and without the thick atmosphere protection against meteorites; And people living too long on Mars would also develop lazier weaker muscles because of the lower gravity. What humanity needs is much faster spaceships and cleaner less polluting rockets or space elevators. Spaceships should be more like good living conditions, traveling villages, moving across space, with artificial gravity, where habitants would see those ships as their home. At best Mars could be developed as a mining operation with robot workers. There has to be lots of minerals there, with cover of red rust on Mars; There has to be tons of iron at the very least.
