THE HOLY SPIRIT Part 2: The Work of the Holy Spirit

Mary gave birth to the physical body that Jesus would inhabit during His time of ministry on earth but it was the Holy Spirit that impregnated her. Elisabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit when Mary came to visit and she heard the voice of her cousin.

Jesus told the disciples that He would send the Holy Spirit to take over as the leader of the Church after returning to heaven. The Holy Spirit draws men to God the Father, convicts them of their sins, leads them to salvation, and builds the Church of Jesus Christ.

No man can sovereignly make the decision to be saved; it is the Holy Spirit that convicts people of sins, pointing to Jesus as the solution. He has been steering the church for the last 2,000 years, helping Christians discern the Scriptures and correctly apply it to their lives.

Jesus is the foundation of the church, but it is the Holy Spirit that gives humanity the power to build upon that foundation, working with each believer in Christ, bringing them to growth and maturity.

The Holy Spirit is simply carrying out the mission given to Him by God the Father in eternity past.
