A college student mysteriously goes missing ... and when she reappears she seems to posses highly advanced telepathic powers.

Is there some connection between her new powers and the secret guarded for hundreds of years by the Cranford Family? B. O. Brown of the Ministry of Defence believes so, and he's investigating a link between her disappearance and the burning of six children as witches in the 17th century.
