By Edward Marriott.
Based on the diaries of American "freedom fighters" in British jails during the American War of Independence, this is the story of Thomas Will and his son Caleb who leave their family and farm in Salem, Massachusetts, in 1777 to fight the British. Captured at sea, they are sent to a brutal prison in the south of England. From here they plan a daring escape.
