Spyderco Bug Knives: "Hard Cutting Micros" by Nutnfancy
Score a lightweight, high quality MICRO blade for very little coin. And it's a Spyderco. These "bug" knives by Spyderco might be dismissed by some but they are capable cutters. They feature 3Cr8Mov full flat ground blades that mimic the lines of their larger cousins in the Spyderco line. Being a "SlipIt" design, the do not lock. But their detents are positive and should suffice for most utility uses. The "Bug" and "Honeybee" are truly tiny and would make great keychain knives; the larger "Grasshopper" is my favorite because of its greater capability. In cardboard cutting tests, the blades did dull quickly but they can be re-sharpened just as fast. The stainless handles are chamfered, feature a lanyard or key chain hole, and can be engraved (shown). The prices at Yourcornerstore.com in mid 2010 were mind blowingly reasonable: Bug for $$.45, Honeybee for $5.54, and the Grasshopper for $8.36. They do lack a clip but with their slimness and dimumitive sizes may them easy to carry. I recommend a lanyard attachment to help fish these bugs out of the pocket. These are not gimicky ornaments but real cutting instruments in minature! //////Nutnfancy Likability Scale: 10 out of 10 (price considered)
