Spain- Demonstrators block streets in Madrid in support of rapper Pablo Hasel.mp4

Protesters rallied against the jail sentence for Catalan rapper Pablo Hasel in Madrid on Saturday. The artist is due to enter prison in the coming days after being found guilty of insulting the Spanish crown, glorifying terrorism and insulting state institutions.

Demonstrators were seen attempting to barricade the streets with containers and metal fences during the protest. They can also be seen running from the area once the police begin to arrive.

On 29 January, the Criminal Chamber of the Audiencia Nacional gave Hasel 10 days to voluntarily present himself at any penitentiary centre. The rapper said that he was not going to leave the country, but that he would not hand himself in voluntarily.
