Sig 516: Isn't This Supposed to Be Awesome? [Full Review]

We took the internet-vaunted Sig 516 out to the desert for several outings. Fitted with a suppressor, our hopes were high as we'd heard and read many glowing things about the Sig 516. Unfortunately it failed to impress us on many levels. Dial into the video to see its accuracy, ergos, SAWC, value, and what turned out to be astonishing reliability problems. Gun was shot as it came out of box, cleaned and lubed when problems arose. A brought range of operational temperatures were introduced in the outings. In the end value piston ARs like the Adams Arms or any number of DI carbines far outperform this Sig 516. Even if reliable, its bad trigger, short blocky rail, and relatively high price don't add up to high value. Could we troubleshoot and get this 516 going? Yes. But in the mass production review cycle of TNP now, there's just not enough time or audience interest in this...and it should just work without any hassles or complications. Other competitive options are proffered including the much more excellent Sig MCX which is rec'd over the 516.
