This is a never-before-published clip of SEAL Team Six being inserted by Extortion Company Chinooks. Extortion Company is the unit to which Extortion 17 belonged. Extortion Company, composed of CH-47D Chinooks and pilots, crew, and maintainers from the conventional Army, Army Reserve, and Army National Guard supported over 90 percent of special operations missions conducted in their area of operation, which was in restive eastern Afghanistan. The special operations units were part of JSOC, Joint Special Operations Command, and included SEAL Team Six (seen here) and the 75th Ranger Regiment. This video, from the thermal infrared scanner of an Apache Gunship providing protective overwatch, shows a MAF mission, or Mobile Assault Force, where Extortion Company Chinooks would offload members of SEAL Team Six with their quads and dirt bikes.
