Reality of Alcohol Tax | Explained by Dhruv Rathee

State governments all across India are going through a huge financial loss. More than 80-90% revenue earned has gone down. From 3000 crore to 300 crore for states like Delhi, Punjab. Therefore, some states have opened up liquor shops to keep the generated money flowing, some have imposed a 70% tax on alcohol. In this video, I explain the different ways governments have tried austerity measures to better the finances and why its important to bring in new taxes like liquor cess and junk food tax
