My papaw was a corrections officer in the state pen, where nobody got out. He had special gloves he'd put on, to deal with irrate prisoners. Metal shards were at the knuckles. He'd go in on his days off, just to check on things. Other guards had commented that the prisoners didn't act up, if papaw was there.
He was a big guy. His military unit had taken turns running over an anaconda, even taking a picture with carcass. Mamaw told the town, he'd killed an anaconda, leaving out the tanks from the story on purpose..lol Everybody was scared of him.
