Melbourne earthquake felt across south-east Australia.
Tens of thousands of people across five Australian states and territories have reported feeling a strong earthquake on Wednesday morning.
Geoscience Australia says a 5.8 magnitude earthquake struck in regional Victoria at 9.15am on Wednesday followed by a 4.0 magnitude aftershock about 15 minutes later.
The epicentre was reported as being near Mansfield, about 150 kilometres northeast of Melbourne.
Geoscience Australia says it struck at a depth of 10 kilometres.
The Bureau of Meteorology says there is no tsunami threat.
The Betty’s Burgers restaurant in South Yarra had debris strewn in front of it - with significant damage to the side of the building. .
Several reports of damage to other buildings across the state have been made to the SES.
