the rat problem would be so easy to solve... 55 gallon drums 1/3 filled with waste vegetable oil from restaurants etc, 5-6" of vermiculite floating on top of that, bait that they like, and ramps up so they can get to the trap. when the barrel looks 3/4 full, replace it with a fresh one. contents of barrels get shredded into fertilizer for land to be planted in 12+ months later. rats can't swim in oil very well, the vermiculite looking solid would be like quicksand and the particles would choke them. the protein, calcium, calories (veggie oil etc), other vitamins and minerals would be safe to grow in a year later, the vermiculite is good for helping to keep the soil loosened up. I'm no "expert", but I'd guess the soil could neutralize anything toxic from one to 1.5 tons per acre tilled in 18-24" deep.. in a years time. fertilize land like that only once every 3-4 years. the trap idea is from Shawn Woods videos in YouTube, rodent traps are his specialty. "use them for fertilizer" is a whole lot safer than the RAT BURGERS shown in the movie "Demolition Man", which illustrates the dystopia we may be living in if these lefty-commies have their way with us.
