Manbearpig reminiscent of the film "Prophecy" (1979)

The man-bear-pig from South Park may have been inspired by this film. South Park included a Stargate with their storyline and I'm unsure how or why it is directly connected to this subject (perhaps by associating manbearpig with the stargate, they are implying both are a freakish byproduct from destructive endeavors in the pursuit of financial gain.)
