    How long would you say it takes for the molds to heat up ( Aluminum Ones ) ?
    How high are they heated to and do you keep them on the plate all through the casting ?

    I leave the plate on (with molds on top) and heat them to about 390-400 degrees F. When I take breaks from casting, (like refilling the lead pot), I put them back on the hot plate. As far as time to heat up, just about 5 min or so.
