Pendant une trentaine d'années, jusqu'à la création de l’État hébreu, ils composèrent une bonne partie des cadres dirigeants de l'Union soviétique. Rare sont les intellectuels juifs aujourd'hui à reconnaître les crimes de leurs congénères dans cette histoire. Pour faire oublier tout cela, il faut un "bouc émissaire" : ce sera Staline ; ou mieux encore : Adolf Hitler. Plus le crime est énorme, et plus le bouc émissaire est indispensable.

Many Jews became fanatically involved in the Bolshevik revolution of 1917. For some thirty years, until the creation of the Hebrew state, they made up a good part of the leading cadres of the Soviet Union. Few Jewish intellectuals today acknowledge the crimes of their fellow human beings in this history. To make people forget all this, a "scapegoat" is needed: it will be Stalin; or better still: Adolf Hitler. The bigger the crime, the more necessary the scapegoat.
