A former Tufts Medical Center doctor is suing her former employer for $6 million, alleging she was wrongfully terminated after she refused the COVID-19 vaccine during the pandemic. Dr. Theresa Gabana, in a lawsuit filed Tuesday in Suffolk Superior Court, alleges she was unjustly fired in December 2021 after Tufts Medicine rejected her request for a religious exemption to the hospital’s COVID vaccine requirement.
